Here is a white-collar crime with a number of different
meanings attached to it. Specifically,
criminal fraud involves using a lie, deception, falsehood, or dishonesty in an
attempt to gain a benefit. Fraud can
also be a civil wrong-doing meaning that victims can bring a civil lawsuit for
money damages, to fairly compensate them for the losses they suffered as a
result of the fraud.
Types of fraud in California may include –
1. Computer or
internet fraud…a growth industry for sure!
2. Benefits. Someone has been arrested for dipping into a
company’s benefits program.
3. Welfare. It is very common as people on the edge try
to “get an edge”.
4. Workers’
comp. Obviously, there are many who may
have exaggerated their claims.
Fraud involves a great deal of complicated legal
matters. If you or a loved one have been
arrested, please call William Chestnut.
