Domestic violence counts on silence from the perpetrator as
well as the victim. This is the time
when silence is not an option, nor is it an option to stand by when someone may
be falsely accused of a domestic violence crime. Everyone wants to end this pervasive problem,
and some will go as far as trumping up charges to eliminate someone from their
lives.
We all need to be vigilant and look for the signs of
domestic violence in our home and the homes of our friends and relatives. It is important to attempt to have a rational
and meaningful discussion about the issue before any accusations are thrown
about. False or exaggerated reports of
violence within the household occur every day.
If you have been accused of domestic violence please take
immediate, but unemotional action.
