Robbery Comes in All Shapes and Sizes.

There are about as many different types of robbery as there are shoe sizes!  Let me give you a for instance.  Let’s say the owner of a boat may take it to a marina to have it fixed. Once the work has been completed, the owner retrieves the boat without paying the bill.  However, robbery often includes force…so what type of robbery is this?

The internet is a new culprit.  It makes it easy to take part in obtaining and selling illegal copies of artistic material and for criminals to remain nameless.  Have you ever heard of crimes of false pretense?  They may involve an individual that obtains ownership rights to property by committing an act of fraud.

I have seen just about every type of robbery in my 40 plus years of criminal defense throughout Santa Clara County, San Mateo County, Alameda County, Silicon Valley and the South Bay Area.  Experience counts a great deal when the subject is robbery defense.  Please give me a call to look at your case (408) 298-6990.

Redefining Drug Possession in California.

It is a brave new world out there Mr. Huxley.  Pot is now legal in our state.  Some are saying hallelujah while others exclaim oh no!  Proposition 64 is over 60 pages in length.  Make no mistake about it, you could still be arrested for the illegal use of marijuana in this state.  You need to know some of the facts.

Here are several…

1.  You have to be over 21.
2.  Don’t think that you can light up wherever you feel like it.
3.  You will be fined for smoking in public.
4.  If you want to sell it, you will need a state license.
5.  Selling pot without a license could easily result in fines and incarceration.

Just be careful and sensible out there.  Look at it this way…the 2nd amendment does not give us the right to fire off guns in public!  When you need aggressive drug possession or trafficking defense you call William Chestnut.  He has protected Californians for more than four decades from his office now located in San Jose.  Give Bill a call at (408) 298-6990.
